For some, lash combs are simply too fussy. But for some makeup artists, they're a great invention and keep lashes glob-free and perfectly separated. So how to use? Apply mascara at the lash base. Then wiggle the lash comb through to the tips of your lashes. Not into the lash comb? Get rid of clumbs without them by removing excess mascara from the wand. Wipe wand on tissue, this eliminates blobs BEFORE you start.

    * Tip #2:
Try a clean mascara wand. Sweep a clean, fresh mascara wand through lashes when they're wet. When you finish a mascara, clean the wand in a capful of eye makeup remover, then wash with soap and dry. Keep it clean by washing it whenever you wash your makeup tools.

    * Tip #3:
Don't shy away from colored mascara. Basic mascara rules are simple: Black works for everyone but can be harsh on blondes. Blondes should opt for brown/black by day and reserve black for night. Blue mascara, however, can brighten blue eyes while purple mascara makes brown eyes pop.

    * Tip #4:
When applying mascara, wiggle the wand at the base of the lashes. It's the mascara placed near the roots (not the tips) that gives the illusion of length.

    * Tip #5:
Thin, short brushes are best. A thinner brush allows you to get into the corner of eyes. Short brushes give you more control.

    * Tip #6:
Give a few coats to the edges by blinking. Blink onto the brush to give ends an extra coat.

    * Tip #7:
Powder under the eye before applying mascara. Sometimes mascara smudges because it's attracted to oily concealer or eye creams.

    * Tip #8:
Use an eyelash curler Curling lashes gives eyes the appearance of being wider and brighter. Shoot warm air from your blowdryer on the mascara curler for 3-5 seconds to warm it up before curling lashes. Touch it first to make sure it's not too hot. It's a myth that you have to curl lashes before you apply mascara.

    * Tip #9:
Zig-zag the wand. Zig-zagging the wand back and forth during application helps cut down clumps.

    * Tip #10:
For a dramatic look, apply mascara only to the upper lashes. To make eyes seem wider, apply to the bottom, too. But make sure you give lashes a light touch. Not great at getting those bottom lashes? Try putting a tissue under them before application.

    * Tip #11:
Use a mascara primer. Primers coat lashes and separate them before you apply mascara. Makeup artists swear by mascara primer. I tried it and like it, but because it's an added step, I usually use primer only on special occasion when I spend more time on my makeup.

    * Tip #12:
Want that 2nd coat? Just make sure to do it before the first coat dries, otherwise you'll get clumps.

    * Tip #13:
Do NOT pump wand in and out of the tube. This only introduces air into the tube, which will cause your mascara to dry out sooner than it should.

    * Tip #14:
Another smudge-proof tip -- bend the wand. A top makeup artist once gave his secret to his steady hand: he always bends his wand at a right angle.

  * Tip #15:
Always wait few seconds before blinking.

Info source : www.beauty.about.com

French Manicure, anyone?

STEP 1

Exfoliate your hands by massaging them using a small amount of body scrub. Rinse with water and dry thoroughly. One of the main causes of chapped hands is not drying them properly after washing.

STEP 2
File your nails. If they are brittle or tend to split, keep them flat across the top with smooth, rounded edges. When filing, move in one direction, from outer corner to centre-sawing movements can damage the nail plate. Choose a nail file with a fine surface that glides over the nail.

STEP 3
Coat hands in a layer of sweet almond oil, to norish and soften, then wrap in a warm towel and relax for 15 minutes. Unwrap, and gently push back cuticles using a rubber hoof stick (available from most chemists). Never use cuticle clippers, as they can nick the skin. Rinse hands with warm water and dry thoroughly to remove any oil residue.

STEP 4
Apply one coat of base coat over your entire nail and allow a couple of minutes to dry. This will help strengthen the nail.

STEP 5
For a square look, paint a straight line across the tips; for a rounded appearance, follow the curve of the nail; and to get a pointed style, paint in from each side to the centre. Some manicure kits include sticky strips to use as a guide. when applying, lay your hand on a flat surface and keep the ball of your painting hand steady and keep the ball of your painting hand steady by resting it on the same surface. Leave to dry.

STEP 6
Finally, apply a coat of translucent shell-pink nail polish over the entire nail to seal the whitened tip and complete the look. Allow 10 minutes for it to dry. For extra shine and protection, apply a clear, glossy top coat.

Info source : www.free-beauty-tips.com

Eyeliner Tips

How to Apply Eyeliner?

I love eyeliners. They can make my eyes look bigger and defined. I can tolerate both liquid and pencil types.

But do you know how to apply them? Here some tips for you :)

1 Choose an eyeliner appropriate for your eye color. Brown, navy and charcoal accent light eyes well, while brown and plum shades flatter brown eyes. Make sure your liner complements the color of your shadow.

2 Consider the type of look you're after. Pencil eyeliner gives your eyes soft definition, while liquid versions offer precision and drama. You can also moisten dark eye shadow and apply it with a small, flat brush.

3 Prepare a cake liner or a dark eye shadow by applying a small amount of water to your brush. Or, if you're using a pencil eyeliner, ensure that you've sharpened the pencil adequately.

4 Move the wet brush gently through your cake liner or dark shadow. Hold the brush or pencil as you would hold a pen.

5 Tilt your head back slightly and bring your eyes to a half-open state. This creates a good angle for application, while allowing you to see what you're doing.

6 Draw a line across the upper lid just above the lashes, from the inside corner to the outside corner of the eye. If you're using liquid liner, allow it to dry before opening your eyes all the way, or the color may transfer into the crease of your eye. Do this slowly.

7 If you used a brush or a pencil, soften the look by gently smudging the line with your brush, a cotton swab or your finger.

8 Line the lower lids. Moving from the outside edge inward, draw a line on the outer two-thirds of the lid or more, depending on the look you're going for. Your line should be slightly thicker at the outside corner, becoming thinner as it moves in toward your nose. Using your brush or pencil, lightly stroke the area. If using a liquid liner, apply it in one smooth stroke. Apply less color so your eyes don't appear raccoon-like.

NOTE :

* You may find eyeliner, particularly the liquid version, difficult and messy the first few times. * Practice and have patience.
* Wash brushes regularly with makeup remover or a mild gel shampoo.
* Lining the inside of the lower lid is not recommended as it may cause eye infections, and it greatly increases the risk of getting makeup in your eye.

Info source : www.ehow.com

Gimme Your Stuff

I've encountered this cool blog called GIMMEYOURSTUFF, when i was browsing through Debbie's blog the other day.

It's a cultural exchange portal, where joining members will be the ambassadors for their respective country. Partially blow-dry your hair to get rid of excess moisture.

* Spray a volumising tonic on your hair, or a handful of mousse spread from tips to ends for extra oomph. (for volumised effect), or straightening balm for straighter/sleek effect

* Pin hair up and take out small sections at a time to blow-dry. Hold the dryer in one hand and a styling brush in the other.

* Place the brush underneath the first section of hair and position it at the roots. Keep the tension on the hair (without tugging too hard) and move the brush down towards the ends, while directing the air flow down the hair, following the movement of the brush.

* Blow-dry using a large, round brush with a metal core. Wind hair completely up the brush, focusing on creating lift at the roots. Gently blast hair with a hair-dryer until dry.

* Curl the brush under at the ends to achieve a slight bend. Continue until the back sections are completely dry and then repeat on the top sections of hair.

* Finish with a light, flexible hairspray.

    * Remember, practice makes perfect!

Info source: www.hairstyle.com

Determine Your Face Shape

I encountered this cool article, on how to determine your face shape. What does face shape have to do with it? Everything. To get the most flattering hair style for you, you want to avoid repeating your face shape with your hair style. For example, a short puffy hair style will make a round face look rounder. A long and straight hair style makes a long face look longer. The object is to strike a balance that is the most complimentary to your natural features while creating interest. You should choose your hair style based on your facial proportions.

To determine if your face shape is oblong, oval or round, you will need to measure the length and width of your face and calculate a ratio of length to width.

You can do this with a mirror or a picture. Measure for length from the point where the forehead meets the hairline to the bottom of the chin. Measure for width across the face at the widest point of the cheekbones. Divide the width measurement by the length.

Your face is OBLONG if the result is 0.60-0.69
Your face is OVAL if the result is 0.70-0.79
Your face is ROUND if the result is 0.80-0.89

The perfectly proportioned face is 1 1/2 time longer than the width, and is very rare. Pick yours to determine what's the most flattering haircut for your face shape.

OVAL

This is the most versatile face. You can pull off almost any look — short, long, straight or wavy. No matter the length of your cut, you'll look best with layers near your cheekbones, lips or chin — basically whatever feature you want to highlight.

* Styles that are super hot now: Choppy bobs, long waves and shoulder-skimming shags.
    * Celebs who share your face shape: Kate Hudson, Jessica Alba, Jada Pinkett Smith

Tools you can't live without: A great curling iron and flat iron to create waves and straighten your sleek locks.

Avoid :
Short layers that add height on top of your head. This will make your face appear long. If your hair is thick or curly, avoid a blunt cut. You'll look like a pyramid.

LONG/OBLONG

For straight hair, you can create more width with bangs. Long, side-swept bangs are very modern. Chin-length bobs and cuts are also ideal for you because they create the illusion of width. Curls and waves also add width, but avoid short layers that add volume on top.

Tools you can't live without: A great volumizer.

* Celebs who share your face shape: Sarah Jessica Parker, Ashlee Simpson, Giselle Bundchen

Avoid:
Stay away from extremely long or short cuts. These elongate your face. If you must have long hair past your shoulders, make sure to cut in a few long layers, especially around the face. You might also consider a v-shaped style, where the length is mainly in the back, while the sides and front of your hair seem shorter.

ROUND

Your best bet are styles that fall right below your chin or add a little volume on top. Soft, graduated layers are also a great bet because they make your face appear slimmer and tend to remove bulk and weight from the sides. Bangs are flattering, but keep them long or sideswept. Go for wispy and tapered ends. These de-emphasize the roundness of your face.

Tools you need: A great Hair brush to keep hair tame.

  * Celebs who share your face shape: Fergie, Kate Bosworth, Oprah Winfrey, Cameron Diaz, Kirsten Dunst, Michelle Williams, Catherine Zeta-Jones

Avoid:
One-length, blunt cuts if you have short hair. These only emphasize your round face.

SQUARE

If you have a square face, you'll want to play down your strong, angular jaw. Texture, in the form of curls or choppy ends, do this brilliantly. You can also get away with short, spiky cuts and long, sleek styles with layers that start at the jawline and continue downward.

* Celebs who share your face shape: Gwyneth Paltrow, Demi Moore, Mandy Moore and Rosario Dawson

Avoid:
One-length bobs (especially chin-length) and blunt-cut bangs. These will make your face look even more square.

HEART

Your pointy chin tends to be the focal point of your face. Draw attention to your eyes and cheekbones instead with sideswept bangs (these act almost like arrows to your eyes or cheeks), brow-grazing fringe, a strong part and hair that falls at or below your jawline. Have short hair? Keep top layers soft and long. Long hair? Go for wavy layers that graze your cheekbones.

* Celebs who share your face shape: Katie Holmes, Jennifer Lopez, Rachel Bilson, Reese Witherspoon, Zhang Ziyi

Avoid:
Blunt-cut bangs and harsh, choppy layers.

Info source : http://beauty.about.com

BEST Shampoo for Hair Types

Uh ohhh..its been a while since my last post..Been very busy catching up with holidays :)

I was thinking to get a haircut, so I come up to share info on hair products, at this time around for my Beauty Talk Blog.

How do you choose the right shampoo for your hair? Let me guide...if possible.

1. COARSE, CURLY HAIR

Curly hair is almost always dry hair and here’s why: oils produced in the scalp don’t travel as easily down the hair shaft as they do with straight hair.
Creamy, moisturizing shampoos work best for this hair texture. Look for shea butter & coconut & macadamia nut oil in your shampoos. These tend to coat the hair shaft, trapping water inside.

      Conditioners: For extreme hydration, use deep conditioners. You’ll want to look for products that contain cetyl or stearyl alcohol, panthenol & methicones, silicone or dimethicone, or essential oils & botanicals such as avocado or jojoba oil.

!! Extra tip: Remember to never, ever, ever wash curly hair every day. You’ll only dehydrate the hair & make it more frizzy & unmanageable. Another alternative to shampoo washings is to rinse the hair with water & then follow with a conditioner.

2. FINE, OILY OR LIMP HAIR

Go for the clear shampoos & stay away from the creamy ones that were made for curlier hair. You want a gentle shampoo that marked for daily or frequent washing. The secret fine hair shampoo lies in a bodybuilding ingredient called panthenol. Hair experts swear that panthenol penetrates the hair cuticle making each strand thicker.

      Conditioners: Even limp-haired ladies need conditioners, just don’t let them touch your scalp. Massage a light-weight conditioner from mid-shaft down and no need to leave it on for long. If you have extremely greasy hair, look for the oil-absorbing tea-tree oil in your conditioner.

!! Extra tip: Spray conditioners may be your best bet. They tend to be more light-weight & therefore don’t weigh the hair down. Also, unless your hair is extra-oily, there’s no need to ‘rinse & repeat.’ One shampoo will do you. You don’t have to lather twice.

3. PROCESSED HAIR

Adding moisture is key to finding the right shampoo for colored, permed & relaxed hair. Unfortunately, processed hair usually suffers from oily roots but dry shaft & ends. So washing processed hair can be tricky business. You want to cleanse the roots while moisturizing the ends.

Here are shampoo tips for the following processed hair types:

     * Colored.
Color-protection shampoos contain gentler cleansers than regular shampoos and also contain ingredients to preserve color so your stylist is right when she tries to sell you on them.

     * Permed or relaxed.
Any moisturizing shampoo will work for your hair type but make sure it apply it only to your roots and rub it in well. Then apply a quick burst of water. While the water is running down your hair shaft, massage your hair to remove any dirt & grime. Rinse well. You don’t want to skip the conditioner. Make sure to stay away from the roots.

Conditioners: Look for a rich conditioner, primarily on the ends of your hair. Just avoid conditioners that contain silicone, since they tend to strip color.

!! Extra tip for processed hair: Wash your hair only every few days to prevent drying out. You can use a dry shampoo in between washings.

4. DRY/DAMAGED HAIR

Avoid clear shampoos & go straight for the creamy ones formulated with a mild detergent such as sodium laureth sulfate & rich conditioning agents (shea butter or lanolin). These smooth, detangle & diffuse static.

      Conditioners: Again, moisturizing is key. You’ll want to look for an ultra-moisturizing conditioner with shea butter.

Info Source : http://fall.about.com by Julyne Derrick

Applying Eye Shadows

I found these 8 simple steps to making up your eyes for evening.

Time Required: approx 10 minutes

#1. Prep your eyes.
This step is needed only if you have darkish undereye circles. Apply 3 dots of concealer under your eye. Start at the inner corner where skin tends to be darkest, then under the pupil and the third on the outer edge. Blend with a brush or your concealer until it disappears.

#2. Apply a base shadow
Next, apply an off-white or cream base shadow from your lip up to your brow bone. Use a medium-sized fluffy brush . This allows a base for the color to stick to.

#3. Apply eyeshadow/eyecolors.
It's great to use a 3-toned shadow & build from lids to brow. Start with a medium color, sweeping across the lid. Build on this color with a darker color in the crease & finish with a light color above the brow bone. Blend in all colors together.

#4. Follow with eyeliner
Dark eyeshadows work great as eyeliners. Take a slanted brush, dip in water and then in the dark eyeshadow then line eyes as close to the lashes as possible from the inner corner to the outer corner. Follow with liner on bottom eyes, but only line from the middle of the eye out. Smudge with a brush or your finger.

#5. Brighten
With a gold or pink highlighter (white is too bright), draw a v-shaped shape that follows the inner corner of your eye from top to bottom. Blend with your fingers. This gives you a 'bright-eyed' look.

#6. Highlight your brow
Take the same highlighter and dab it on your browbone, concentrating on your mid-brow outward. Blend with your finger.

#7. Curl lashes
Warm your eyelash curler under a blowdryer for a few seconds. Touch curler to make sure it's not too hot, then curl lashes. Be careful, you do NOT want to burn your eyelid.

#8. Apply mascara
Place the wand of your mascara brush at the bottom of lashes and wiggle back & forth. Follow with another few sweeps of the wand. Sweep on bottom lashes as well.

Have fun :)

Info source : http://beauty.about.com

Lipstick :: Tips and Tricks

Lipstick - Tips and Tricks !

Tip #1:
Lipstick done? You might notice there's still a bit of lipstick down in the tube. You can dig it out and put it in a small plastic container. Use a lip brush to apply.

Tip #2:
Never use a test lipstick on your lips. It's just plain unhygienic. Instead, test lipstick on your fingertips. It's a closer fit to your lips than the back of your hand.

Tip #3:
Use liner on your lips as a base.Lipstick will last longer if you fill in your lips with the liner first. If you're using light lipstick, try a nude liner. Then slick your lipstick on top.

Tip #4:
Never use a dark liner with light lipstick. Defined lips are great, but make sure the liner matches the lipstick or gloss. Dark liner and light lips is tacky.

Tip #5:
Keep lipstick off your teeth with this trick. This is a trick I learned years ago from my mom. After applying lipstick, take your index finger and pop it in your mouth, then pull it out. The excess lipstick will come off on your finger rather than your teeth.

Tip #6:
Lipstick can act as a blush. But never use blush as a lipstick.

Tip #7:
Apply liner first. Lipstick tends to feather if you apply liner after lipstick. Also, you won't be able to see the natural line of your lips if you apply lipstick first.

Tip #8:
The older you are, the 'creamier' your lips should look. Women over 50 should avoid matte or a gloss and stick with a creamy lipstick.

Tip #9:
Don't throw out a bad color lipstick. Beauty editors know you can create a great lipcolor by blending lipsticks you don't like. You can also color in lips with a darker liner before applying a lipstick that's too bright.

Tip #10:
For 'plump' lips, apply liner just outside your natural lipline. Dab a bit of gloss in the middle of your bottom lip.

Tip #11:
Keep lip gloss on longer with liner. Lip gloss is infamous for wearing off fast, but if you fill in lips first with the liner, the gloss has something to stick to.

Tip #12:
Heal -- don't throw out -- a broken lipstick. If your lipstick breaks off, simply take off the broken portion with a tissue, then slowly wave a lit match under the broken piece of lipstick. When it's melted a bit, put it back on the base, swivel it down and put it in the fridge -- uncovered -- for 30 minutes.

Tip #13:
Avoid orange or brown shades. They tend to make teeth appear yellow.

Tip #14:
Save the last bits. Down to the last bit of you favorite lipstick? There's plenty more at the bottom of your tube. Scrape out the last bits with a cotton swap or orange stick & mix it with Vaseline or lip gloss in a lipstick palette.

Tip #15:
Keep lipstick off glass. Discreetly lick the lip of the glass before touching your lips to it. It works!

Tip #16:
Experiment with blending lipsticks and glosses. Real lipstick aficionados create their own lipstick shades by blending different color and even formulations. You can start with a matte lipstick, follow with a shimmery shade and cap it off with a colored gloss.

Info source :http://beauty.about.com

Applying Face Blushers

I simply love Blushers. Its a must have, to create an instant radiance on the face. Let me share some tips on Blusher Application.

Please remember to :

-Go for a light shade of blush color for the daytime and a dark one for the lovely evenings.

-Select either cream blush or powder blush depending upon the suitability of your skin. Cream blush is considered good for the dry skin whereas the powder blush is good for the oily skin.

-Make sure that before applying the blush you are finished with application of powder, foundation and eye makeup.

-To use a round brush (with powder blush, of course) because it gives better effects as compared to the brush that usually comes with the blush.

-Look into the mirror and give a smile so that your cheekbones are raised and place the blush on the apple of your cheek. Then brush up your cheekbone toward your hairline.
* In case you have a fuller face you should apply the blush at the outside of your face near your temples.
* In case of high cheekbones you should apply the blush in the center of your face.

- Sweep the blush color in an arc following the line of your cheekbone up from the apple of your cheek to your hairline.
* In case you are using gel blush then you should rub it in small circle on the apple of your cheeks, blending it well up into your hairline.

The Steps :

#1
In order to find your cheekbones suck your cheeks in. Now feel along the edge of the cheekbone. This is where you have to place the cheek color to make your cheekbones more prominent and enhance your other features as well.

#2
Smile! This will reveal the apples of your cheeks. Then, dip your blush brush into the powder, shake off the excess, and brush it lightly over the apple of your cheek, moving upwards toward the ear, with short, up-and-down vertical movements.

#3
Apply your blusher underneath the cheekbone but for an even stronger look you can apply some to the temple also.

#4
Again smile and apply the blusher to the apples of your cheeks. If you keep the blush color on the front of your cheeks then it will not only give an illusion of clear skin but also emphasize your eyes.

#5
In case your face cut is long and narrow then you need to create width. For this you should apply the color no higher than the lower edge of cheekbone and keep the angle horizontal. You should apply blush color only on the outer side of your cheeks, as cheek color in the middle of the face will emphasize length only.

#6
In case you want to enhance the length of your face then you should apply blush color in the middle of your face. The cheek color on the outer side of your cheeks will only emphasize roundness of your face.

My Recommendations :

Ohh..I love these blushers !!

Benetint from Benefit. The sexiest flush you can get from a bottle. Innocent yet provocative, the tinted cheek and lip stain is kiss-proof color that looks naturally sheer and radiant.
To use: Dab a small amount to clean, well moisturized skin (or lips) and blend with fingertips. Layer if additional color intensity is desired. On lips, try topping with gloss for added shine.

DiorShow Powder from Christian Dior
Its a some kind-of loose powder, which is Pink tinted.
To use : Glide the puff over cheeks for a translucent wash of color or shimmer, or glide over shoulders and decollete for a cutting-edge glow

Foundation Makeup

Cosmetic foundations such as powders and liquid foundation are used to create a clear, smooth skin tone - the illusion of seemingly flawless skin texture that will last as long as you desire.

Foundations provide the perfect base for the application of the rest of your make up products. Face make up is meant to provide light to medium skin coverage and comes in a wide variety of colors and types.

Rule #1 :
Pick a Color that Matches Your Skin Tone.
It is also important to choose cosmetic foundations that looks natural (closely matches your coloring) and fits the desired effect you are seeking. You may require a separate concealer for skin blemishes, blotches, under eye dark rings and other discolorations.

Rule #2 :
Foundation should be applied to the skin first, before any other make up product, since other products may not blend as well to the naked skin and may even make blemishes and flaws look more pronounce.

Cosmetic foundations may be water-based, oil-based or oil-free, with varied consistencies and coverage, and are available in liquid, cream or powder form. Powder adds the finishing touch to your foundation and keeps you looking fresh throughout the day. Powder can be used on its own to look natural. Be careful not to use too much powder, especially around the eyes where the excess powder can settle into the fine lines.

Powder based cosmetic foundations have the function of combining both foundation and powder in one product. It 'sets' your foundation to make it last, it adds a matte finish to the skin that looks fresh, makes the skin seem finer by making the pores seem smaller. You will only need concealer in addition to this rather that setting the foundation with powder.

Generally, moist products are applied first and other powders follow. But when you use powder foundation, you apply the concealer first. Then, using a latex sponge, spread the foundation across the whole face including eyelids, but not the lips.

Pressed Powder Foundations.
Pressed cosmetic foundations give a smooth, matte finish to the skin that helps control shine. It can be applied with either a damp or dry sponge. At first, it takes practice to use the right amount of powder.

This type of foundation works for all skin types and is easy to carry around since it's not as messy as loose powder. This makes it quick and handy for touch ups. It is available in more shades than loose powder.

When choosing a shade, get one as close to your foundation color as you can and use lightly since it tends to accumulate on your skin during touch ups.

My Recommendation :
**** I like DIOR SKIN compact. I usually use the enclosed sponge to apply. It blends perfectly and doesnt look chalky. Skin feels smooth upon application. Im using shade 201 Linen. Coverage is medium. Consider applying some tinted moisturizer or sheer liquid foundations beforehand if you want a heavier coverage. Retailing around RM120+ locally.

Liquid Foundations.
These usually offer light to medium coverage, can be applied using a sponge and are available in a wide range of colors that can be mixed to obtain in-between shades to match your skin tone (only mix cosmetic foundations of the same brand). Because liquid foundation is a more lightweight finish than compact it tends to be easier to use on dry skin. It is also best applied using cosmetic sponges.

To avoid a streaky finish place a very small amount of foundation on sponges and always brush over with powder. The powder helps the cosmetic foundations last longer.

Make sure you get the right cosmetic foundations for your skin type - choose an oil-based foundation for dry skin, water-based foundation for normal skin, and 'oil-free' foundation for for oily skin. You can apply moisturizer 5 to 10 minutes before beginning your face make-up application.

My recommendation :
***** I love L'oreal True Match (im using Golden Beige shade). Yes, it does truly match my skin tone (almost!). I usually get the pumped type bottle, coz its more hygienic and thats the only packaging available in Malaysia though. It glides and smoothes on the skin effortlessly. It also doesn't contain oils, so i wear it confidently without worrying about breakouts.It also blends perfectly onto skin, and doesnt dry off easily like other matte liquid foundations. Coverage wise is quite good too. Retailing at RM49 locally.

Cream Foundation.
When using a cream-based cosmetic foundations, concealer may be applied either before or after the foundation. Use a wedge-shaped latex sponge and light strokes to apply the foundation across the face.

You can tell how a cream will cover by how it feels to the touch. The thicker and heavier it feels, the more it covers. So if it feels slightly dry it offers light to medium cover. Very rich creams are used for stage.Try not to cover too thick with cream foundation or it may look artificial and draw attention to itself.

My Recommendation:
***I like BeneFit Some Kinda Gorgeous. Its lightweight, sheer and oil free, creme-to-powder type. The packaging scores a bonus too ( i like all benefits packaging :) ) Retailing around RM129, if Im not mistaken. But too bad, it only comes in 1 (yes, one) shade only.

Info source : www.wildaboutmakeup.com

Oh ! They can also result from a build-up of toxins and wastes in the system. There are many medical and home treatments available for getting rid of puffy eyes. By following these home remedy (given below), you can cure it.

Home remedy for reducing puffy eyes:

1) Drink adequate quantities of water to keep your system flushed.

2) Cut down your tea intake and try to avoid coffee from your diet.

3) Sleep is absolutely imperative. Inadequate sleep tells on the eyes more than on any other part of the body. Sleep soothes the eyes and relieves fatigue. So, catch up on lost sleep whenever you can.

4) Thin cucumber slices or potato slices, used as compresses over closed eyes will relieve sore, puffy eyes.

5) Take a metal spoon and run it under cold water. Place the metal on the puffy area for at least 60 seconds.

6) Raise your head with pillows. It will help keep fluids from pooling under your eyes.

7) Splash your eyes with cool and clean water.

8) Soak cotton wool pads in rose water and use them as eye pads, over closed eyes.

9) A few egg whites, stiffly beaten, and applied with a brush to the face and under the eyes will make the skin feel tighter and look less puffy. Add a drop or two of witch hazel which also reduces swelling and will keep the egg whites from drying to rapidly.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://beauty-talk.blogspot.com/2007/02/oh-puffy-eyes.html' title='Oh ! Choose your skin care products carefully and always look for mild, well-balanced cosmetics. It requires very light make-up. Face should be washed with soft water. If the usual tap water in your area is hard, soften it by adding a little 'borax powder' to it. In order to keep up the glow of your skin, it is imperative to wipe off your make-up before going to bed with a good cleansing cream. Do not use make-up at least once a week so as to let your skin breathe fresh air.

Caring for Dry Skin Type

Protect it against wind, sun and water. Dry skin should not be washed with cold water and soap, nor should astringent lotions be used. Instead, after cleaning it at night, before bed-time, it is better to use a good freshner which might give it some freshness. The freshner should be non-alcoholic, because alcohol dries the skin. Moisturizer should be spread slowly on the face by giving outward motion either with cotton or
fingers. Use moisturizer on your neck and other parts which are exposed. Diet, rich with vitamins A, B,C, D should be taken.

Caring for Oily Skin Type

A greasy skin is prone to pimples and dark shadows. It, therefore, requires frequent cleaning, say thrice a day at least. Use of sulphur soap is beneficial., Also, remember to clean your face at night, before retiring, with some good quality cleansing milk or with un boiled milk. Avoid greasy food. Your intake of water should be at least six glasses a day . If the skin is allowed to remain greasy, pimples and blackheads find an easy way to appear. A greasy skin does not require make-up. Cleansing the pores with
steaming once, a week is an effective method to keep the skin greaseless. Use a face-pack after steaming. This is called facial. Face-packs are available in the market but they can also be made at home. What kind of pack would suit you depends upon your skin.

Caring for Combination Skin Type

If your face is partly oily and partly dry, you've got combination skin and there are several ways to care for it so that you can keep both types balanced and looking good.

- Use a mild cleanser on your entire face up to twice a day.

- Use a good moisturizer on the dry areas.

- Moisturizers work by either increasing the penetration of water into the skin or by reducing the rate at which water is evaporating from the skin surface.

-Look for products that normalize your skin, such as those that contain alpha hydroxy acids - Alpha hydroxy acids are derived from fruit, milk and sugar cane and have antiinflammatory properties. When applied to the skin they help remove dead skin cells (exfoliate), giving a younger appearance.

-Use oil-absorbing makeup on oily areas to control shine.

-Use a sunscreen, minimum SPF.

Info Source :www.beautytips.com

Whats Your Skin Type

Do you know whats your skin type? Most of us don't really bother.

It is really very important for you to be able to identify your skin type. This is to enable you to look after your skin correctly. Also the selection of your cosmetics to a considerable extent is influenced by your skin type. Although no two skins are exactly similar most have characteristics which enable them to be grouped into one of the following types: normal skin, dry skin, oily skin, and combination skin.

Normal Skin Type

Normal skin is smooth and velvety to touch and does not look puffy or shiny. The skin has a rosy colour because the circulation of blood is good and the skin is well moisturized. The pores are fine and barely visible. This type of skin is very rare. It is one of the best types which retains freshness, attraction and flush for long. If you own this type of skin, you have a real fortune to exploit.

Dry Skin Type

Dry skin is fine, sensitive to the weather and is prone to wrinkles. Dry skin is delicate and dry with a tendency to scaling on the cheeks. Underneath, the skin lacks suppleness and therefore feels taut after washing. The pores are not visible as there is an insufficient amount of secretion from the sebaceous glands. Dry skin tends to age prematurely and is wrinkle-prone unless nurtured. Constant protection is very important and the products used must be gentle, rich and soothing. Always use a moisturizer during the day and a good cream at night.

Oily Skin Type

Oily skin is coarse, thick and shiny. The sebaceous glands being over-active, the pores are clearly visible. Oily skin is prone to blackhead and pimples and needs to be cleaned scrupulously. Only those cosmetics which have been formulated especially for oily skins should be used, otherwise there will be problems.

Combination Skin Type

Most of us have a combination skin. The middle of the face (patches on the forehead, the nose and the chin) is shiny with dilated ostia and a coarse texture. The rest of the face is either normal or dry. Sometimes, the difference between the two areas is great; if such is the case with your skin, then you would have to treat each part of the face accordingly - the dry areas as for dry skin and the central face as for oily skin.

Well..mine is Combination Type. Whats yours?
